2011 Manhattan Invitational Results

The NHS Cross Country Team began their 2011 season at the Manhattan Invitational meet on September 3rd.

"It's safe to say that this first meet was a good learning experience for us as a team.  I believe 20 of our 36 runners competed in their first ever high school meet.   That experience should be valuable as we move through the early part of our season.  Individually we earned medals in 3 of the 5 races.  Ashlyn put herself up in the front and didn't seem to having any trouble staying there.  She has really dedicated herself to the sport so it is great to see her rewarded with a big PR and a top finish in a very tough meet.  I don't think Kasey really knew what to expect but she had a great race.   We have some varsity boys who I know can run better. We just have to be a little bit smarter about how we approach the early part of the race.

Teamwise we didn't score as well as we'd like but I'm confident and optimistic that we'll see a lot of improvement.  "
